Having pain again. My dr said I can get it removed as a recurrence. Is there anything that could be done to shrink it or kill the cells after takened out. It’s on my chest wall. I had breast cancer with a mastectomy 6 years ago.

Hey @A MyDesmoidTumorTeam Member! This is a great question. I would suggest calling/talking to your surgeon and seeing if they suggest you talk with an oncologist. All in all, there's not right or wrong answer as you're trying to figure out next steps 😊 Let us know what your surgeon or oncologist says!

Should I talk to my surgeon about treatments or have her send me to my oncologist .

That confusion is completely understandable @A MyDesmoidTumorTeam Member! Hearing "no treatment" can feel like a dead end when you're searching for hope or a plan. But you're not alone, and it doesn’t mean there are no options — sometimes doctors say “no treatment” when they mean “watch and wait,” or they’re still exploring the best route based on your tumor’s location and behavior. Have you considered getting a second opinion? Or re-confirming with your doctor your options?

Many members here have been told the same at some point, and later explored things like surgery, cryoablation, NSAIDs, hormonal therapy, or targeted treatments. It all depends on your specific case.
