Since desmoid tumors grow in connective tissue, and connective tissue exists throughout the body, a tumor near or on the breast area is entirely possible. It's great that MD Anderson is on your radar β they are exactly the kind of specialized center that has experience with rare tumors like desmoid. Navigating insurance hurdles while waiting for treatment is genuinely stressful, and it's completely understandable to feel anxious during this waiting period.
Hang in there β getting to the right specialist is so worth the wait, and it sounds like you're doing all the right things to make that happen! πͺ
